The New Hope Office of Immigration Services sees clients by appointment in Orlando, and you choose the language when you book: Portuguese, English, or Spanish, with a dedicated staff member for appointments in Spanish. In the consultation your whole case is reviewed: what options exist, which documents are needed, and how long each process usually takes.
“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.”
Leviticus 19:34 (NIV)
Documents
If you are submitting a document to USCIS that is not in English, yes. The New Hope Office of Immigration Services provides certified translations and notarization in Orlando, and both services come up in almost every immigration case, from adjustment of status to an application for naturalization.
They are different things, and this is where many people lose time. In Brazil, official documents are translated by a sworn translator (tradutor juramentado), who is approved through a public exam held by the state commercial registry (junta comercial). That position does not exist in the United States.
What USCIS requires is a complete translation of the document together with a certification signed by the translator, stating that the translation is accurate and that the translator is competent to translate that language pair. Together, this is what is called a certified translation, and it is what the office provides.
A document translated on your own, without that certification, is sent back. This applies to birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, diplomas, school transcripts, driver’s licenses, and criminal records.
Notarization is the certification of a signature by a notary public commissioned in Florida. The notary verifies the identity of the person signing and records the act, which gives the document legal validity before U.S. agencies.
It is usually required for a power of attorney, affidavit of residence, travel consent for a minor, and letter of financial support. A document that needs notarization has to be signed in front of the notary, not beforehand.
Both services are handled at the same office, in the same visit. If you already have the document in hand, you can book directly on Calendly and choose the language of your appointment.

Why the church has this office
New Hope Church has been in Orlando since 1999, and the Brazilian community here is our own people. Over these years the church has walked alongside hundreds of families building their lives in the United States, and has seen what it means for someone to understand their own immigration situation, explained in Portuguese.
That is why the church runs its own immigration office. Here you sit down with someone who knows the process, speaks your language, and handles your case with care for you and your family.
