Ask New Hope Church to pray for you

Write whatever is on your heart. The prayer team at New Hope, a Brazilian Presbyterian church in Orlando, reads every request and prays for it during the week. It is private and stays between you and the church.

The request

How do I send a request?

One line is enough. After you send it, a button lets you continue on WhatsApp with your message ready, and you decide whether to talk with someone from the church now or simply leave the request.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

James 5:16 (NIV)
Prayer in person, on Sunday At the end of every service, someone from the team is available to pray with you right there.
Write your name so the team knows who to pray for.
We need a number to get back to you.
To receive the sermons, please enter your email.
Write your request, even in just a few words.

Your request is confidential. It goes straight to the church office and the prayer team, and is not shared with anyone outside the church. The request itself is not added to any mailing list; your email joins the sermon list only if you check the box above.

We received your request.

The prayer team has been notified and will pray for you this week. If you would like to talk with someone from the church now, the button below opens WhatsApp with your message already written.

The prayer team

Who prays for the requests?

The requests go to a group of people from the church who have organized themselves to pray, during the week, for the names that come in.

It is quiet work, out of the spotlight, done by people who work all week and set aside time for it. Many of them may never meet you in person, and they will still pray for your request.

If at some point you want to share how things turned out, write again. Hearing the outcome is a joy for those who have been praying, and that kind of news rarely comes.

What people ask for

What do people usually ask for?

These are the topics that most often reach the prayer team at New Hope.

Health

For the person writing or for someone in the family, here or in Brazil, including surgeries and diagnoses.

Family

Marriage, children, the family here and the family back in Brazil, and the reunions still to come.

Work and provision

Jobs, provision for the household, career decisions, and each new professional step in another country.

Immigration paperwork

Cases that drag on, deadlines, and the waiting that most immigrants know firsthand.

Gratitude

Not every request asks for something. Many people write to give thanks, and the team celebrates with them.

For someone else

One of the most common requests. Write the person’s name and what is happening.

Beyond the request

In what other ways can we pray together?

The form works at any time of day, and it is not the only way.

At the end of the Sunday service

Someone from the team is always available to pray with you right there, with no appointment. You share whatever you want, in your own words, and the team prays.

On Wednesday at 7:30pm

At the Youth and Teens Gathering - Forever Youth, teens and young adults pray for one another in a smaller group than the Sunday service.

At New Hope Casa

In the groups in all four areas, praying for one another is part of the weekly gathering. See the groups.

Sunday, 10:30am

Come pray with us.

On Sunday morning the church gathers to sing, hear the Word, and pray for one another. The service is at 10:30am, in Portuguese with live English interpretation, at 4300 Lake Margaret Drive.
